FAQ

We understand you may not rent from us, that's okay, we still <3  you.  But if you are going to procure a photobooth from another vendor be sure to ask them these questions.

1.  WHAT KIND OF CAMERA DO YOU USE? 

Many other vendors use point and shoot cameras or even touchscreens with built in webcams.  DMP uses only professional 12.3 megapixel Nikon DSLR cameras.  They may say that the type of camera wouldn't matter, would you trust a wedding/event photographer to show up with a point and shoot to take photos of your special day? Take a look our photos and then theirs,  yes it does matter.

 

2.  WHAT TYPE OF LIGHTING DO YOU USE?

Some other vendors may use household fluorescent lighting.  Fluorescent lighting is inconsistent, isn't that flattering and can sometimes result in blurry photos. DMP uses studio flash lighting in our photobooths and studio ringflash lighting in our phototowers.

 

3.  WHAT TYPE OF PRINTER DO YOU USE?

Many vendors use cheap inkjet printers to print your photos.  DMP uses professional dye sublimation printers in all our booths and towers.  These are the same printers that big box department stores and 1 hour photography stores use to print photos and the printers allow us to print photos in under 20 seconds  Dye sublimation prints can be either glossy or matte finish and are instant drying, smudge free, waterproof and will last for years if not decades to come.  

 

4.  DO YOU PROVIDE FREE ONLINE HOSTING AND DO YOU CHARGE FOR REPRINTS?

A lot of the other vendors do provide online hosting, but for only for 6 months, and they may also charge for your guests to reprint their photos or download their photos.  DMP provides unlimited online hosting of your photos and your guests are free to download their photos and reprint them at home or at any photo developer of their choice. We provide full resolution prints, so if your guests want to blow up their photos, they can. If they do want to pay and print from our photo-hosting site, they are welcome to,  but they aren't required to.

 

5.  ARE YOU BONDED AND INSURED?

Many vendors are not bonded and insured.  We never want accidents to happen, but if they do, make sure your vendor will be able to handle them.  DMP is bonded and insured.  Proof of insurance is available upon request.

 

6.  WILL YOU MEET OR BEAT A GROUPON OR LIVING SOCIAL DEAL  I SAW ONLINE?

In short, No.  When you deal with budget prices, you get budget service.  The DMP Crew strives to be competitive and affordable, but we are by no means a "BUDGET" Photobooth company.  Please read the fine print of these online deals, they most often include a Merchant Cancellation/Resceduling 48 hour Policy.  What does that mean? It means if they can book another rental that pays full price on the same day as your event, they will cancel and reschedule your event and they have 48 hours before your event to do it.  So are you going to reschedule your wedding, your 50th annivesary or your corporate party to accomodate them? How do we know this?  Trust us, we've taken numerous bookings from distraught Brides the day before their weddings.  This is something that they shouldn't have to worry about 24 hours before their big day. The Crew at DMP never takes a reservation unless we can fullfill our obligation, you book a date, we'll be there.  Also in dealing with budget Photobooth Companies, ask them if they are bonded and insured. Most likely they are not.
